The State Fair of Texas
Taking a 130-Year Tradition Social
Taking pictures in front of Big Tex has been a tradition at the Fair since he first took his place in Big Tex Circle. But what does the Fair experience look like in a social age? And how can an event that is built on Texas-tradition use social media to engage with the fairgoer?
The State Fair of Texas has undertaken a new branding strategy over the last 2 years to create a visual identity and communication strategy to match the experience at the Fair. Learn how the State Fair of Texas approached this change in strategy, evolved its visual identity and leverage social media to engage with fairgoers in new and impactful ways. The Fair will share case studies on what worked for them and some of the initiatives that did not work so well.
Prior to joining the State Fair of Texas in 2013, Mrs. Schuder was the Chief Marketing Officer and Director of Community Outreach for the Dallas Opera for eight and a half years. As Vice President of Marketing for the Fair, Mrs. Schuder leads the branding and creative development efforts for the organization as well as revenue generation through sponsorship and advance ticket sales. Mrs. Schuder is also an adjunct professor at Southern Methodist University, teaching marketing classes in the Meadows School of the Arts.
